Gloria Steinbach 82 of La Salle passed away Saturday April 9 at 6:50PM with her family by her side in Heritage Health Peru. She is now at peace with the Lord and Savior. A funeral mass will be Wednesday April 13 at 10 in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle. The Very Reverend Antonio Dittmer, Pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Tuesday April 12 from 5 to 7 in the Burgess Funeral in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the Church on Wednesday from 9 until the time of services.
She was born on November 2nd, 1933 in Albia Iowa to John and Margaret (Davidson) Gay.
She married Joseph Steinbach on August 20, 1952 in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle.
She is a past member of Resurrection Church in La Salle. During her time in the parish she was a member of the Sanctuary and Rosary Society. She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle.
She was employed through the La Salle Public School System for several years as a Cafeteria Staff member until she retired in 1990.
She will be remembered for her passion for playing bingo with her cheerful greeting to others and her lucky “bingo” call. She loved her garage sales after her loving family.
Survived by: her husband,
2 sons: Tim (Connie) Steinbach of Oglesby, Chad (Mary) Steinbach of Utica.
2 daughters: Becky (Jeff) Oscepinski of Oglesby, Debbie (Michael) Ryndak of Wheaton IL
1 sister: Katherine Kwiatkowski of Hammond, IN
The loving joys of her life: 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews, and her faithful companion “BABY”
She is preceded in death by: her parents, 2 sons Ricky, Keith) 2 sisters (June, Deena) and 1 brother (John)
