Geraldine “Gerri” Lijewski 75 of La Salle died unexpectedly in her residence at 8:12AM Saturday Aug 20. Services will be Saturday Aug 27 at 10:30 in the Faith Assembly of God Church in Peru. Pastor Steve Adamson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Friday Aug 26 from 5 to 8 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the Church from 9:30 until the time of services on Saturday.
She was born January 7, 1941 in La Salle to Frank and Katherine (Donavon) Gbur.
She married William “Bill” Lijewski August 21, 1965 in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle.
She taught for a short period of time at St. Mary’s School in Peru. She was a server for many of years at several establishments in the area. She was involved in girl’s softball for several years. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God.
She is survived by:
1 Son: Bill (Rashelle) Lijewski of Castle Rock CO
3 Daughters: Kimberly (Lijewski) Simpkins of La Salle
Nicole (Jeremy) Moorman of Peru
Gina Lijewski of La Salle
9 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by husband (2010), parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother
The pallbearers will be: Jared, Dane, Kaegan Moorman, Dakota Koenig, and Wyatt Simpkins
