George Renkosik
George Renkosik 79 of Peru passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Feb 11 at 6:44PM in Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. A Funeral Mass will be Monday Feb 16 at 10:30 in St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. Msgr. Brian Rejsek Pastor of St. Valentine’s will officiate. Burial will be St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Church Monday at 9:00 until the time of services.
He was born in Spring Valley Illinois to Lloyd and Clara (Szydlowski) Renkosik.
He graduated from St. Hyacinth Grade School in La Salle, La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1953 and attended Illinois Valley Community College.
He married Carol Seghi on Feb 2, 1957 in the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in La Salle.
He worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, Westclox, Firestone, Foster Grant, American Hoechst, and retired form Huntsman Chemical in 1999 where he was a maintenance foreman.
He belonged to St. Valentine’s Parish.
He is survived by;
His wife, 1 son Douglas (Kathy) Renkosik of Wonder Lake, Illinois and 1 daughter Deborah Woods of Oconomowoc, WI
2 grandchildren; Nicholas Renkosik, and Lauren Borisek
1 great-granddaughter; Natalie Jo Allen
4 step grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren
Brother / Sister - in- law Monte and Debbie Seghi, and Sister-in-law Sharon Seghi
Preceded in death by: his parents, 1 brother, and a sister at infancy.
