Emily Raines 99 of La Salle died Nov 8 9:39PM in Heritage Manor in Peru. A funeral mass will be Friday Nov 11 at 11 in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle. Fr. Paul Carlson Pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Utica will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church Friday from 9 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on July 29, 1917 in La Salle to Vincent and Pearl (Kasszmierczak) Jasiek.
She married Orville Raines on November 11, 1945 in St. Hyacinth Rectory in La Salle by Fr. Vincent Jasiek.
Occupation: She was employed by several retail stores in the Illinois Valley for many of years as a sales clerk.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, St. Hyacinth Altar & Rosary Sodality, Court De La Salle #276 Catholic Daughters of America, Festival Choir of St. Hyacinth, Women Catholic Order of Foresters.
She is survived by:
1 daughter; Marilyn (Jim) Jereb of Utica
1 sister; Audrey Smudzinski of La Salle
2 brothers: Clem Jasiek of La Salle, and Franklin (Nancy) Jasiek of La Salle
4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by: her husband (1988) 2 brothers Fr. Vincent Jasiek and Chester Jasiek
