Obituary for Edward Ricci
Edward Ricci 64 of Utica passed away Tuesday February 11 at 9:28AM in LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 22 at 4:30 in the Burgess Funeral Home in Utica. Visitation will be 2 to the time of services. Edward was born in LaSalle at St. Mary’s Hospital on August 22, 1949 to Kenneth and Wilma (Biggs) Ricci. He married Cindy Nordie on June 9, 1973 in Waltham Presbyterian Church in Waltham Twp. Ed loved diversity and was a jack of all trades. He worked as a construction laborer for Frank Nordie. For over 10 years he ran the sulfuric acid plant at Becker Industry in Marseilles. He was a maintenance man for the Ottawa Care Center. He ran the light show for the band The Coachmen and then the Cold Fire. Self taught he also owned a locksmith shop; repaired VCR’s and co-owned Mobile Cinema Ed was a Boy Scout, inducted into the Order of the Arrow when he was young. He always had a smile on his face and had an affinity for telling bad jokes. He was in various local bands, loved to play guitar, was an avid metal detector treasure hunter, and coin and token collector. He also loved to spend time at air shows, flying remote controlled planes, and hunting for Indian arrow heads, and other miscellaneous artifacts. Electronics was his specialty, he could fix almost anything. He was a loving, caring man that will be missed by many. He is survived by; His Life partner Cindy (Nordie) Ricci His father; Ken (Shirley Fuller) Ricci of Ottawa 2 daughters; Lisa (Jerry) Comer of Ottawa, Tracy (Dale Baker) Ricci of Utica 2 brothers; Douglas (Pam) Ricci of Ottawa, Jeff (Jamie) Ricci of Ottawa 2 grandchildren, Madison and Jerry Comer, nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his mother (1999)
