Obituary for Edward "Ed" Kalemba
Edward J. Kalemba, age 92, passed away May 13th, 2021 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Ottawa,
Illinois. Edward was born in Chicago, IL on October 20, 1928. Services will be private for the family.
The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting the family. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his
daughter, Diane (Phil); his three sons: Michael, Edward, and David (Michele); and eight
grandchildren: Jacob, Kelsey, Nicole, Isaac, Emma, Walter, Aaron, and Lillian. Preceded in death by
his parents: Adam and Anna (Kozak) Kalemba; Four brothers: Walter, John, Joseph, and Stanley
Kalemba. A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Edward was a retired
engineer from Ford Motor Co. (1985) where he worked for 25+ years. Edward also served in the Air
Force during the Korean War era. In his free time, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s
extracurricular activities and sporting events. Edward was an avid golfer and enjoyed tinkering in
his workshop. He was a beloved husband to his wife Peggy whom he married on July 21, 1956 (64
years). The couple met at Hines Hospital where Peggy was his attending nurse.
