Edmund “Eddie” Wojciechowski 90 of Southport NC., and formerly of LaSalle passed away unexpectedly September 1st at his residence in North Carolina.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday September 9 at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle at 11. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson, pastor of Holy Family Church in Oglesby will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the LaSalle, Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be in the Church on Saturday from 10 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
He was born on January 3, 1933 in LaSalle to Louis and Clara (Brylski) Wojciechowski.
He served his country in the United States Navy.
He married Rose Marie Walendukanis in St. Hyacinth Church on September 26, 1959.
For many years he was an Electrician at Libby Owens Ford in Ottawa.
He was a member for many years at St. Hyacinth Church. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans in LaSalle, Knights of Columbus in LaSalle, and a member of St. Stephens Society.
He is survived by: his wife (Rose Marie) of sixty three years.
Two Sons: Jerome Wojciechowski, Bill (Sherry) Wojciechowski.
One Daughter: Laurie (Tim) Robbins
Three Grandsons: Adam (Katie) Wojciechowski, Ryan (Caroline) Wojciechowski, and Aaron (Amanda Nehrlich) Robbins.
Two Granddaughters: Brittnee (Frankie) Rodriguez, and Sarah (Craig) Wright.
Eight Great Grandchildren: Vivian Wojciechowski, Alejandro Rodriguez, Ford, Vivan, and Carson Wright, Reagan Wojciechowski, Noah and Sophie Robbins.
One Sister: Teresa Eich of Mendota.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, and one sister; Clara (Wojciechowski) Zebron.
In lieu of flowers, the family request's donations be made to the “Wounded Warrior Foundation.”
