Obituary for Dorothy A. Carter

Dorothy A. Carter 85 of Peru passed away peacefully on Saturday July 8th at OSF St. Francis Healthcare in Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial mass for the family will be held, with her burial at a later date. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting the family.

Dorothy was born on December 18, 1937 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Hyacinth and Clara (Affelt) Perra.

On May 18, 1957 she married her best friend, and love of her life, Ron Carter at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle.

She was employed by Westclox in Peru, and later for several years she was a sales representative for Bergner’s in Peru.

She cherished and love every minute she could be with her family, friends, and especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed a good challenge of working a variety of puzzles, along with watching the Wheel of Fortune and attempting to solve it before the contestants. She would relax by watching a few of her favorite programs on TV.

She is survived by: her husband of sixty six years.

Two Sons: Randy of LaSalle, and Mike (Nancy) of Peru.

Three Daughters: Lori (Dee) Bennett of Marseilles, Debbie Carter of Peru, and Jane (Jerry) Kruse of Burlington, Wisconsin.

Six Grandchildren: Kelsey Strever, Matt Bennett, Brandon Carter, Adam, Emily, and Allison Kruse.

Seven Great Grandchildren: Carter, Bailey, Bennett, Lucas, Owen, Stella, and Addley.

Several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, two brothers, one sister, and a nephew.
