Obituary for Donald L. "Sugar" Wagner

Donald L. “Sugar” Wagner 75 being a lifetime resident of Deer Park, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Saturday October 11th at home. Per “Sugar” wishes cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. The Burgess Funeral Homes of LaSalle is assisting the family. He was born on January 24, 1950 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Lyle and Betty (Beach) Wagner. He married Helen Orth on October 2, 1987 in Oglesby. He farmed for over thirty years. He was employed for twenty-six years by the Illinois Department of Transportation, District 3 as a Laborer. He specifically worked at the Shipping Port Bridge located between LaSalle and Oglesby as a Bridge Tender with a marvelous, enjoyable crew. He belonged to the Local 722 Teamsters Union. He greatly cherished being around family and friends. He is survived by: his wife of thirty-eight years. One son; Ray (Nancy) Humpage of Plano, IL. Two grandsons; Sean, and Sam Humpage of Plano, IL. One brother; Larry Wagner of Tampa Bay, FL. One sister; Lilian Wagner of Apollo Beach FL. One nephew Chad Gerding of Riverview FL. He is preceded in death by: his parents.
