Obituary for Dolores Ann Renkosik
Dolores Ann Renkosik 88 of LaSalle passed away peacefully at her residence on May 19. A funeral mass will be Monday May 23 at 10:30 in St. Hyacinth Church. The Very Reverend Thomas Otto Pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband (Jack) of 60 years in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday May 22 from 3 to 5 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. A rosary will be recited by Sr. Norberto Piekos at 5. Additional visitation will be in the church on Monday from 9:30 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born in LaSalle on November 17, 1933 to Michael and Mercedes (Sment) Walendukanis.
She attended St. Hyacinth Grade School and La Salle Peru High School
She married John (Jack) Renkosik on October 10, 1953 at St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle.
She was employed by Denler’s Grocery Store in Peru for 14 years. She was employed by Dayton Dairy in La Salle. She owned and operated Dee’s Meat and Deli in La Salle.
She was an active member of St. Hyacinth’s Church, a member of the St. Hyacinth’s Mother’s Club, Altar & Rosary Society and for many years sang in the St. Hyacinth Choir. She also was a past member of the St Bede Mother’s Club. Dolores was a faith filled, family oriented, selfless, generous Mom, Grandma Busia, Sister, and Friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, hosting holidays, attending family birthday parties, and playing bingo and progressive rummy.
She is survived by three daughters Paula (Charles) Urso of Naperville, Mary (Leo) Plese of Naperville, Joanne (Dave) Stachowicz of La Salle; two sons John (Jerri) Renkosik of Cedar Point, Raymond (Jayne) Renkosik of Colorado, daughter-in-law Carol Renkosik of Peru;15 grandchildren John Renkosik, Angie Nimer , Melissa Schmidt, Bridget Theccanat, Nicole Renkosik, Nell & Elizabeth Urso, Justin Renkosik, Leo Lad Plese, Nicholas Plese and Kelsey Seeba, Kayla and Kevin Stachowicz, Dylan McCain and Deandra Shaw and 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Rose (Ed) Wojciechowski, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Special thankyou for the loving and compassionate care provided to our mother by Christy and Nelle of St. Margaret’s Hospice.
She is preceded in death by: her husband (2013), parents, sister; Jeanne Samolinski 2014
