Obituary for David E. Raines Sr.
David E. Raines Sr. 68 of LaSalle, formally of Sheridan passed away peacefully on May 9th at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life to share memories of his life will be Sunday June 7th, from 1 to 4 at the Sheridan American Legion in Sheridan.
David was born in Sandwich on November 12, 1957 to Sherman Edward and June (Haffley) Raines. He grew up in Sheridan going to Serena High School. He then served in his country through the branch of the Army in 1975. He married Brenda (Taylor) Raines. He enjoyed sharing his life with her until she passed away in 2012
He enjoyed the outdoors, and would always make the time when available to enjoy his passion of fishing. Being around family and friends was a joy to him.
He is survived by: one son; David Raines Jr., one sister, four brothers, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his wife (Brenda), his mother (June), and a sister; Betty Raines.
