David A. Lijewski 73 of LaSalle, passed away at his residence on April 10. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be Thursday April 20 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. A memorial service will be at 5:00PM in the funeral home. Very Reverend Tom Otto Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate.
David was born on January 24, 1950, at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Walter and Valiere (Kinczewski) Lijewski.
He was employed by IVCC as a computer tech. Later, he worked for Delmonte Bay Valley in Mendota as a lab technician.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church. He was an avid guitar player and was a member of several local bands in his early years. He enjoyed scuba diving and was a scuba master and boat captain.
He is survived by: a sister and brother; Carol (Jim) McGill of Mendota, and Jim (Peg) Lijewski of Naperville, IL.
Nephews and Nieces; Brian (Kim) Camenisch, Thomas McGill, Brian (Rebecca) White, Christina (John) Davis, Cassie Camenisch, Maureen (Phil) Mincks, as well as great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and his special friend Bonnie Peterson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the LaSalle Police Department’s Officer Santa Program or the donor’s choice.
