Obituary for Connie Dobrydnia
Concetta "Connie" Marie (Tomminello) Dobrydnia 90 of Peru died on Friday Feburary 26 in her home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM in St. Hyacinth Church with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating
Cremation will take place following the services and burial will be at a later date
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 - 3:00 PM in the Church
Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is in charge of arrangements
Born on May 18, 1925 in LaSalle to Thomas and Rose (Cousa) Tomminello
She was the oldest of 4 girls of Italian immigrants
Graduated from L-P High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing
She was one of few nurses that held her nursing license until she was well into her 80's
Her talents were many as she was the founder and leader of the melody girls trio playing the accordion
She met a handsome marine Francis "Crash" Dobrydnia and they were married in 1953
The family grew with 3 beautiful girls
Mary Lou Dobrydnia (partner Betsy Ptacek) of Peoria
Judie Rose Able of South Carolina
Karen Ann Gadsden (Philip) of North Carolina
Connie's legacy lives on with 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 1 great grandson who will arrive in July
She is also survived by 1 Sister Rose Marie Lane and her family of Peru
Many Nieces and Nephews and friends whom she treated as her own.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband in January 1993, 2 sisters Providence Tomminello whe died at age 2 and Providence (Pat) Carson in May 2003.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to her family for her favorite charities
