Obituary for Christine Uranich
Christine Uranich's love of laughter, life, God and nature did not die with her.
Christine, 56, of La Salle died on Monday, August 30. She was born in Kankakee at St. Mary's Hospital Dec. 28, 1964. She is survived by her husband Rob, daughter Hannah, son Max, her parents Jerry and Shirley Edgecomb Soens, brother Erik, mother-in-law Jackie Pierard Uranich, sister-in-law Janine Nelson and her husband Mike. Also survived by her dearest friend Vicki Suarez Zibert, several aunts, cousins and many other wonderful friends. She was truly loved.
Christine had an amazing ability to create beauty wherever she went. This is evident by her love of flowers and the beautiful yard she cultivated over the last 20 years. An unequivocally selfless spirit, she was always thinking of others and was always there to make her loved ones' lives better in any way she could. The light and love she brought to everything and everyone she encountered will never be forgotten.
Many will also remember her as "Mrs. U," their Physical Education teacher who always had something fun planned, whether it was the hot lava game or playing with the
parachute.
She worked at American Nickeloid in the lab and part time at Rudy's Liquor Store.
She graduated from La Salle Peru Township High School and Eastern University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
A memorial mass will be Saturday September 4 at 11 at St. Patrick Church in La Salle. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek O.S.B. of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. A memorial visitation will be in the church Saturday from 9 until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for her favorite charities.
