Obituary for Charles Nance
Charles Nance 85 passed away August 24 at 9:50AM in his daughter’s home where lived in Utica. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Visitation will be Monday August 29 in the Burgess Funeral Home in Utica from 9:30 to 11. A Memorial Service will at 11 in the Funeral Home. Pastor Jennifer Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Mendota. He was born on November 22, 1925 in Mendota to Royal and Martha (Hof) Nance. He was veteran and served in the Army. He married Doris Chapel, and later on married Gertrude Whippel. He was employed by the City of Mendota for 23 ½ years working with the Street and Water Department. He also worked at the Shady Oaks Golf Course. He belonged to the Mendota Moose and the Mendota Elks Lodge. He enjoyed cook outs with his family. Survivors: 1 Daughter: Glenda (Don) Gahan of Utica. 2 Grandchildren: Kevin Gahan and Brad Jackson 5 Great-Grandchildren: Zac, Luke, Jake, Grace, and Kade. 1 Sister: Helen Helm of North Dakota Proceeded By; his Parents, 2 Brothers and 1 Sister.
