Obituary for Carrie A. Osenkarski


Carrie A. Osenkarski, 75, of Cedar Point, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2023. She was born on August 18, 1947, in LaSalle, Illinois, to Rose and Augie Parola. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1965.


Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was always there for her family and friends, and she loved spending time with them. She was a talented cook, and she especially loved making ravioli. She also enjoyed bowling, Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies, and taking care of her grandchildren.


Carrie worked as a manager at Taco Bell for many years, and she retired in 2011.


Survivors include 3 sons, Guy Osenkarski of Ottawa, Travis (Melissa) Osenkarski of Princeton, and Troy Osenkarski of Cedar Point, 1 daughter, Heather (Cody) Higginbotham of Streator; 1 former daughter-in-law Brittany Osenkarski of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren Ryan, Emily, Ein, Ashley, Cole, Peyton, Brody, Brooklyn, Gemma, Cambrynn, Jack, and Raewyn, 2 great granddaughters; 7 sisters Irene (Lela) Nelson-Parola, Teri (Don Luttrell) Parola, Amelia (Gary) Sienkiewicz, Kathy (Bob) Trumpinski, Lisa (Terry) Himes, Rosanne (Bob) Maier, Linda (Dan) Reardon, and 1 brother Augie, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Kelly, her ex-husband James Osenkarski, and 4 brothers Nicholas, Michael, Louie, and Frank.


A Celebration of Life will be held for Carrie and, Jim, on Saturday July 22, 2023, at Cedar Point Park in Cedar Point at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
