Obituary for Betty Ann Essl
Betty Ann Essl 79 of Oglesby and formerly of La Salle passed away Monday August 18 at 10:26AM in La Salle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. A Funeral mass will be Friday August 22 at 11 in Holy Family Church in Oglesby with Reverend Gary Blake officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Thursday August 21 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle from 4 to 7. Additional visitation will be Friday August 22 in Holy Family Church in Oglesby from 10 to the time of the mass. She was born June 30, 1935 in La Salle to Frank and Victoria (Gorisek) Hobneck of Oglesby. She married William (Bill) Essl on May 8, 1954 in Spring Valley, Illinois. She worked for Starved Rock in Utica, Electric Utilities in La Salle, and was a Sales Clerk at Formhal’s Purity in La Salle until her retirement. She was a past member of the former St. Joseph’s Church and Resurrection Catholic Church in La Salle and she belonged to Holy Family Church in Oglesby. She survived by: 1 son: James (Terri) Essl of Oglesby 1 daughter: Vickie (John) Colmone of Peru 4 grandchildren and 4 great grand children 1 sister: Donna Slatner of Peru 1 sister in law: Barbara Hobneck of La Salle and several nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2010 and her brother Donald in 2011 On line condolences may be expressed www.burgessfh.com
