Funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 24th at 10:00 am in St Hyacinth Church with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will be at St Hyacinth Cemetery.Full military rites will be conducted by the LaSalle /Oglesby Veteran's Group. Visitation will be in the church, Friday from 9:00am until the time of services. Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is in charge of arrangements.
Ben was born August 27, 1921 to Anton and Rose (Wawrzyniak) Strozewski. He worked as a civil service welder in Norfolk, VA and was a Merchant Marine before serving in the U.S. Navy during WW II. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Commerce from DePaul University in 1949, he worked as a cost & budget accountant for General Foods in Kankakee, Illinois until he retired. During his many years of retirement he spent his time enjoying his property along the Illinois River and was as a loving patriarch to his family. He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, American Legion, and C.W.V.
Survivors include; one brother Leonard Strozewski, nieces: Christine (Strozewski) Hubbard, Karen (Strozewski) Glasgow, Amy (Strozewski) Bowie, and Lynne (Strozewski) Gruenwald, one nephew: James Strozewski, as well as many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and two nephews. Online condolences may be expressed at www.burgessfh.com
