Obituary for Anna Brodzik
Anna J. Brodzik, 86, of LaSalle passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Anna was born in Kawenczyn, Poland on June 1, 1927 to Jozef and Jozefa (Zasina) Tomaszewski. She married John Brodzik on February 23, 1945 in Germany. After immigrating to the United States, she worked for Westclox for more than 20 years. She had a knack for cooking and was employed as a cook for South Bluff Country Club and St. Margaret’s Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting in her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, and granddaughter-in-law, Nicole. She was a beloved mother to John (Tina) and Richard (Lori), cherished grandmother to Chrissie (Jeremy), Jonathan (Nicole), Sara, Emily, and Katie. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Kendall and Kassidy Burdick. Anna touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. Through her words and deeds, she was a grandmother to many. She was loved greatly and will be deeply missed. We take comfort knowing she is reunited with her family in heaven. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Church followed by a Funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Antonio Dittmer officiating. Burial in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Arrangements by Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle.
