Andrew J. Senica, 77, of Utica died at 7:58 p.m. March 12, 2015, in his home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Church, Utica, Monsignor James Swaner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 4-7 p.m. in Burgess Funeral Home, Utica and Tuesday 9-10 a.m. in St, Mary’s Church.
He was born on March 26, 1937, in La Salle to Andrew and Angela Senica. He Married Patricia Sauter on Oct. 11, 1958, in Oglesby. He was a butcher and opened Senica’s Market in Utica in 1974, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Utica Fire Department, Oglesby Elks, Utica Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Church. Senica helped start Utica Little League and coached the Utica Yankees for his sons. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and card player and a dedicated loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors are four sons, Andrew (Sue) Senica of Oglesby, William Senica of La Salle, Dale (Liz) Senica, of Utica, Robert (Carrie) Senica of Peru; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister Suzie (Michael) Johnston, of Colorado; one brother Carl (Sandra) Senica, of Iowa.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to family for his favorite charities.
