Amelia “Amy” Sienkiewicz 67 of Peru and formally of LaSalle passed away peacefully while her husband held her hand on February 6th at Allure Health Center in Peru. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be Sunday February 25th at 2PM in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. A memorial visitation will be Sunday in the funeral home from 1 until the time of the services.
Amy was born on February 25, 1956 at Peoples Hospital in Peru to Guido “Augie” and Rose (Mankowski) Parola.
She married Gary Sienkiewicz on August 21, 1976 at St. Patrick Church in LaSalle.
For several years she was employed by National Metalware in Peru. She later worked for Walmart in Peru, and owned and operated “Thoroughly Clean” in Peru.
She enjoyed the outdoors by playing tennis or going fishing. She and Gary cherished traveling to their favorite place, Mrytle Beach throughout the years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and through out the years her dogs. Reading was a favorite past time for her.
She is survived by: husband of forty seven years.
Six Sisters: Irene (Lela) Nelson-Parola, Teri (Don Luttrell) Parola, Kathy (Bob) Trumpinski, Lisa (Terry) Himes, Rosanne (Bob) Maier, and Linda (Dan) Reardon.
One Brother: Augie Parola.
Several nieces and nephews.
Abby, her dog.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, four brothers: Nicholas, Michael, Louie, and Frank Parola. One sister: Carrie Osenkarski.
