Obituary for Amanda 'Mandy' Lee Woods
Amanda (Mandy) Lee Woods 35 of Sterling and formerly of Ottawa passed away Saturday Dec 14 at 6:09PM in CGH Medical Clinic in Sterling surrounded by her loving family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be Sunday Dec.22 from 1 to 4 in the Burgess Funeral Home in Utica. A family burial service will take place at later date, in St Columba Cemetery in Ottawa. The Burgess Funeral Home of Utica is in charge of the arrangements. Mandy was born on August 18, 1978 in Ottawa to Brian and Deb (Anderson) Woods. She attended the Easter Seals Center in Ottawa until she was 12. She was their poster child for the year 1982. She attended the Lighted Way Development Center in LaSalle where she graduated. At the age of 21 she went to live at the Exceptional Care and Training Center in Sterling. She loved living with her new family and friends she made. Mandy loved music, going to concerts and being active in the fan clubs of her favorite artists. She enjoyed swimming, outdoor walks, shopping and socializing. She is survived by: Her parents Brian and Deb Woods of Utica, 1 sister Desi Rae Woods and (Shannon Buckley) of Utica 2 brothers Joshua (Lisa) Woods of Ottawa, and Jeremy (Janelle) Woods of Tonica Paternal Grandmother Nancy Woods of Ottawa 4 nieces Alexis and Kaylee Woods, Miah and Amelia Buckley 1 nephew Jakob Daughtery Several uncles and aunts She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Larry and Betty Anderson and paternal grandfather Eugene Woods. All were from Ottawa.
