Obituary for Edna R Russell
Edna Russell 84 of Utica passed away May 3 at 1:00PM in Mendota Lutheran Home in Mendota with family at her side.
A funeral service will be Saturday May 6 at 12 in the Burgess Funeral Home in Utica. Pastor Betty Delgado of the Trinity United Church of Christ in La Salle will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be 10 until the time of services in the funeral home.
Edna was born August 30, 1932, in Ottawa, to Elmer and Sarah (Carey) Levy.
She married William H. Russell on August 20, 1955, in Ottawa.
Edna graduated from Ottawa Township High School and worked as a secretary at
Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company in Naplate.
Edna was a loving mother and grandmother. She often went fishing and enjoyed taking scenic car rides with her husband. She liked to sew, do counted-cross stitching, crocheting, and crafts. She enjoyed attending her grandson’s baseball games and school events. Edna never passed up having a good cup of coffee while enjoying socializing with friends and family. She was also a devoted pet owner who loved her cats that brought her much joy.
She is survived by her children, Mark Russell of Utica, Sheila Russell of Utica, and Gail Russell of Champaign; and one grandson, Kyle Russell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1998 and her brother; Edward Levy 2016
